We thought we would lighten up the holiday spirit by outlining our Top Viral videos for 2008. Feel free to add which Virals topped your list this year!
We are not posting these purely for entertainment purposes — they should act as catalysts that inspire the production of more creative videos for your brand, product or company in 2009. During credit crunch times, with marketing belts tightening, the value of the viral is heightened: if created and seeded properly, virals can create long-lasting brand evangelists for relatively little upfront investment.
As a side note, thank you to all those who have responded to our last Viral Countdown, giving us your favorite clips to watch.

With 7.3million views, Obama Girl tipped the charts. Amber Lee Ettinger, a 26 year old American actress and model garnered great success with this “I Got a Crush…on Obama”
On a similar political note, The Budweiser Boys strike again!
EA Sports promoted FIFA Street 3 with this high energy viral video - The video was produced in Brazil, with street jumping, exceptional soccer stunts and more. This is a prime example of how brands can produce truly innovative and entertaining programming, while getting their brand message across in an unobtrusive way.
Our personal favorite is this stunt by the Public Performance Group Improv Everywhere. 200 people simultaneously freezed in place in Grand Central Station, creating chaos and confusing everyone else passing by. The clip garnered over 14.5 million views this year, and we can see why!
Here’s another soccer inspired viral ad, directed by Guy Ritche.
EA Sports does it again with the Tiger Woods video - after a video game player noticed a glitched in the system, Tiger Woods responds confirming that he is, indeed, GOD.
Lastly, this musical parody, showcasing Moby and other artists poking fun at the current economic client! Brought to you by Pitchfork.tv . We definately see this track fighting for the Number One Christmas spot!
