We wanted to start off the week on a non-serious note. We have a 9 year old kid high on laughing gas, Richard Branson in Drag, a very “lost” Joaquin Pheonix, and….scantily clad models in bikinis. Enjoy!
A child was filmed by his father after coming out of the dentist office, still high from laughing gas. In less than two weeks, this video was watch 6 million times, and has hit mainstream with coverage on various US news programs…Proving the viral power of online clips. If harnessed correctly, this power can be used to build brands and create stars.
Or what about this akward, gringe-worthy interview with actor Joaquin Pheonix on the David Letterman show (below). We dont know whats funnier, the fact that Joaquin has officially lost his marbles (purposefully perhaps?) or that he has stopped acting to pursue a career in hip-hop! CBS circulated edited versions of the interview prior to air-time, in hopes of attracting more viewers to the show. Apparently it was not circulated quickly enough, and full length versions of the interview were soon posted online for all to see. Despite having little effect on ratings, this video proves once more that David Letterman can still roll with the punches and make us laugh. (See here for NewTeeVee’s take on this clip).
In the clip below, courtesy of Crunchgear, we see Virgin mogul Richard Branson dressed in drag as he promotes additional flights to/from Boston Logan Airport. Virgin will be flying three daily roundtrips between LA and Boston and two daily roundtrips between San Francisco and Boston with Wi-Fi on every flight and fares starting at $109.
And for a many of you, the clip below might not make you laugh but it will certainly pique your interest… particularly if you enjoy admiring girls in bikinis! The infamous Sports Illustrated 2009 Swimsuit edition has arrived. SI.com has accumulated over 5.7million video views in the first two days of the issues arrival. Its YouTube channel has also been raking in the traffic - with over 1.8million video views. The company announced that figures have significantly increased since last years issue, attributed to a more robust and quality player, and better placement/userability of the site.
We never knew Mariah Carey was so in love with Ken Lee.
