Last night Flypaper.tv held their monthly industry dinner at Osteria Dell’Arancio on Kings Road, co-hosted by the charming Abigail Hemingway of NewStreamMedia. As usual the intimate evening was a huge success, with excellent food, wine, exclusive industry announcements and DJ Jose Hita at the decks! This month the theme was “Music Illuminati”, as the dinner boasted music industry’s top executives as well as music and Hollywood artists.
Assia Grazioli-Venier, CEO of Flypaper.tv, briefly kicked off the night, congratulating Paul Brown, Spotify’s new MD, for achieving 1million registered users in the UK! She also had the honour of being the first to announce Raoul Chatterjee’s new role as Director of Commercial Innovation at Warner Music. Raoul had previously been director of digital and sales at Ministry of Sound, then MD of Trinity Street, and the move sees him back at Warner where his impressive career began. Damian Mould enticed attendees with his plans for B@TV, striking connections that should further fuel the exponential growth of this business.
Singer/songwriter James Morrison’s agency, Connected Artists, was represented by Andy Edwards, and Ben Turner, who manages Rob Da Bank and the hugely successful Bestival, talked about the International Music Summit he’s holding in Ibiza with Pete Tong.
The diversity of the guest list was complemented with two of the sharpest media legal minds in the business; Alexis Giles from YouTube and Gregor Pryor of Reed Smith. Adding glitz and glamour to the event was Emilia De Poret, Swedish singing sensation who spiced up the night with her high energy single “Turn Me On” which is making waves in Sweden, Spain, Australia and across Europe! Desperate Housewives’ Jesse Metcalfe also swung by the party, mingling with likes of Dana Al Salem (Fanshake) and Dave King (Digitalis). Additional VIP guests came from companies including Sony Music, Graphite Media, BBC Music, DJ Download, Universal Music Group, Nokia, Muzu TV, the British Music Experience, M & C Saatchi and Virgin Records.
A bit of “gadget fun” was added to the mix, with a quirky Poken for each guest. Pokens are a fun alternative to exchanging contact details or business cards, instantly connecting guests to each other’s online networks, enabling everyone to chat and exchange stories far beyond the dinner itself.
Flypaper.tv organizes these informal events as a fun and fresh way to connect with old friends, forge new and lucrative introductions, and simply have dinner with like-minded souls to spice up the daily grind. They were borne of frustration with traditional conferences which are often un-eventful and very costly. These Illuminati dinners haven proven to be a great hit with industry folk across various media industries, including mobile, online video, iptv, gaming.
We look forward to more!
